Wall plateA 3D-printed QR code is not an image: it is a physical object with two heights and, above all, two colours. A phone camera needs contrast between the dark squares and the light background. If you print the whole object in a single filament, the only difference between the code and the base is a one-millimetre shadow, and many phones will not read it. That is why this tool exports 3MF: the standard format of modern 3D printers stores the colour inside the file itself, so when you open it in your printer's software you already get two separate parts, one per filament.
The “module” is each little square of the code. Below 1.5 mm the nozzle rounds off the corners and the pattern smears until it stops being readable. The tool shows you that measurement live and warns you in red when you push it too far. Too small? Two ways out: make the object bigger, or shorten the link — the more characters you put in, the more modules the code needs and the smaller each one gets.
0.2 mm layer height, 15% infill, two or three perimeters and no supports: the table stand is designed with its face tilted upwards precisely so it doesn't need them. The relief is 1.2 mm, which comes out as six 0.2 mm layers and gives a clean colour change. If your printer is single-colour, print the base, pause at the change height and swap filament: the result is the same.
Scan the on-screen preview with your own phone before running a batch. And if you have put a logo or an emoji in the centre, all the more reason: the artwork covers modules and, although the code is generated with the highest error correction to compensate, it is worth checking with the camera your customer will actually use.
